Geographic Range: Lake Kyoga and Lake Nawampasa, Uganda, Africa
Diet: Omnivorous; feeds on algae, invertebrates, and small crustaceans.
Average Adult Size: 4-5 inches
Preferred Water Parameters: pH 7.0-8.5, Temperature 75-80°F
Minimum Tank Size: 30 gallons
Acceptable Tank Mates: Other peaceful to moderately aggressive African cichlids. They can be kept with similarly sized fish that thrive in similar water conditions. Provide plenty of rocks and hiding spots to establish territories. Avoid keeping with overly aggressive species.
