Origin: Central America – Costa Rica, Rio Naranjo

Geographic Range: Shallow rivers and streams in the Rio Naranjo drainage.

Diet: Omnivore; Enjoys a varied diet including high-quality pellets, live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and vegetable matter.

Average Adult Size: Around 4 inches (10 cm)

Sexual Dimorphism: Limited sexual dimorphism; males may have slightly longer fins and brighter coloration.

Minimum Tank Size: 20 gallons for a pair, larger for a community

Temperament: Generally peaceful, but can become territorial during breeding. Suitable for community tanks with other non-aggressive fish.
